The Problems: In Order

Approaching art in a way that is useful or interesting requires some type of internal progress. I’ve spent most of my life hating or loving artists, artworks, films, books in a very extreme fashion. Once upon a time, during a masters class in Philosophy in Film, a fellow student expressed his distaste for my excessive hyperbole with regards to a favorite film of mine. “That’s what you said about three other movies.” Fair enough. Thanks, Ben. So while I still adore and loathe many artworks in fan-boy fashion, these Problems are my way of approaching the topics with what I hope is intelligence and sympathy and honesty. It may not always appear that way, but I’m trying.
