First Time Visitors

Dear First Time Visitors,

Thank you for coming. I’ve made this page for one purpose: I want you to come back. Chances are about 100% that you’ve come to this website long after it has begun. So you might be faced with reading an article or pondering an Idea that is In-Progress. You might want to know where to start and how to join in.

Well, that’s what this page is for.

The internet has done fine without me for a decade now. Bloggers are successfully writing their words and readers are successfully reading them. But you know what’s always bugged me? Chronology. Everything is backwards.

Blogs are designed to be read backwards. You enter the site somewhere at the top or in the middle and must work your way backwards to learn something (anything) about the narrative currently in progress. (Yes, I believe blogs are narratives—very personal narratives, and non-fiction-y, but narratives nonetheless). So I number posts that are ongoing so that you can search for the number and find what you need right away. At least, that’s my hope. We’ll see how that goes.

The following posts will give you everything you need to know about my quest, my methods, and hopefully everything else about who I am and so on. This isn’t required reading by any definition of the word “required” but you might find it useful. I return to it myself when I forget the point of this whole damn thing.
